The Band took to the stage in Torquay feeling slightly apprehensive. With 2014 getting closer and the Band's promotion to the Championship Section, MD, Melvin White decided to test the Band with a tricky little number, Dances and Arias by Edward Gregson. Demanding total concentration from everyone and some awkward passages for the soloists and the first full run of the piece end to end on the Friday we were not as confident as we may have been. However on the day the Band and its soloists pulled out all the stops and managed a creditable 6th position and some very positive comments from the two adjudicators. The Band look forward to another go at the piece at the end of the month in the Wessex Contest.
